I’m a Seattle-based filmmaker and photographer available for work worldwide.
I see my work as the opportunity to enter, however briefly, into another person’s reality and to translate something of its texture, weight, and significance into visual form. I’m interested in the social and emotional worlds that shape how people live, work, strive, and endure. Whether I’m documenting an individual, a business, or an organization, I want the work to communicate not only what is there, but something of what is at stake: the values present, the tensions being navigated, the aspirations taking shape, and the deeper reality that may lie beneath the surface.
My work often carries an intimate, observant, and contemplative sensibility, but I do not see those qualities as boundaries. I see them as ways of approaching my work with both warmth and rigor. I’m drawn to tenderness, but not sentimentality; beauty, but not superficiality; honesty, but not hardness. I want the final work to feel composed and alive, sensitive and exacting, grounded in both feeling and form.
